Q:  How long does it take to get to Niagara Falls from Toronto?

A: This is one of the most common questions that we get here at Star Coach services.  It takes about 90 minutes for our buses to get to the falls from the downtown core, assuming good traffic.  This last point is crucial, and especially so in determining our return time.  We strive to get you to the Falls with as much time to enjoy them as possible, but traffic can be trying.  Just know we’re always doing our best!

Q: I want to book my tour ahead of time,  what are the steps I need to take?

A: Booking ahead of time is always a good idea to make sure that you get a spot on the tour.  The first thing you need to do is pick a date.  Our tour runs year-round, so choosing a day that will accommodate your schedule should be a piece of cake.  The second step is to give our office a call at 416-516-7827.  One of our representatives will verify there is space available on the day requested, make the booking,  and then provide you with a confirmation number.  We have a number of downtown pick-up locations: our representative will gladly help you find the one that is most convenient for you. 

Et voila.  When the day of your trip arrives, just be sure to be at the pick-up location on time and with your confirmation number.  And that’s it,  you’re on your way!

Q: Can your bus accommodate my luggage?

A: It is often possible for us to accommodate traveler’s luggage, however it is necessary to call ahead to make sure that there is still room available on the bus.  Remember, when calling, if you can include the dimensions of your bag, this will be very helpful in determining how much space is available.  Our guests’ comfort and security is always at the top of our priorities: we will endeavour to accomodate your needs as best we can.

Q: What type of bus is used for transporting us to Niagara Falls?

A: Star Coach uses only the highest quality luxury coach buses.  After all, we want you to enjoy yourselves and the informative commentary provided by our guides.  What better way than in a climate-controlled coach bus with all the expected amenities?

Q: Do you sell discounted tickets to some of the attractions in Niagara Falls?

A: We sure do!  We have discounted tickets available for the Maid of the Mist, the Skylon Tower and Niagara Helicopter tours.  You can purchase the tickets from either your driver or your guide on the bus itself.  We accept cash and most major credit cards, so there’s no reason to miss out on the things that make Niagara Falls so great.

Now that Canada Day has come and gone, almost everything is back to normal here at Star Coach headquarters.  Welcome to another edition of FAQ Friday!

Q: What kind of clothing will we need for our tour?

A: That really depends on the season and, well, how warm you like it.  Our tour does run year-round, and there is an obvious difference in the clothing needed for July versus January.  That being said, we recommend dressing in layers that you can easily remove if need be.  The Maid of the Mist boat tour provides a rain jacket, but the rest is up to you.

Q: Do your Niagara tours run through the winter?

A:  This is one of the five most common questions we get here, especially as the winter season approaches.  And yes, we do run our tour all throughout the winter.   With fully-equipped luxury coaches, you will always be traveling in comfort, regardless of weather conditions.

There’s a certain charm to the falls in the wintertime, as you can see here. Don’t let a cold day prevent you from enjoying one of the world’s great natural wonders!

Looking for a way to spend this weekend in the Niagara region?  Thorold’s 32nd Annual Arts and Crafts Show gets underway this Saturday, May 29th and continue Sunday, May 30th.  The show will be on from 10 a.m – 4p.m on both days with over 100 Artisans displaying their fine wares, and  it’s just a short distance from downtown Niagara Falls to Thorold.
